ILS | ALS MEDICATION
Epinephrine 1:10,000 (Adrenaline)
- Therapeutic Effects
- Alpha and Beta sympathetic agent
- Increases peripheral vasoconstriction
- Increase heart rate and contractility
- Stimulates bronchodilation
- Indications
- Cardiac Arrest
- Anaphylactic Shock (ALS)
- Severe Asthmatic attacks in rare instances
- Contraindications/Precautions
- None when give for above
- Side Effects
- Tachyarrhythmia/Ectopic beats
- Palpitations
- Administration and Dosage
- Adult: 0.3-0.5 mg IV/ET for anaphylaxis
- Adult: 1.0 mg IV/ET for cardiac arrest repeated q/5min
- Peds: 0.01 mg/kg IV/IO Initial Dose for cardiac arrest
- Epinephrine Drip: 1mg (1:1,000) in 250ml NS to run at 2-10 mcg/minute for use in symptomatic bradycardia refractory to atropine and dopamine.
