- Reverses effects of narcotics (heroin, morphine, methadone, codeine,
demerol, dilaudid, paregoric, fetanyl, tylox, percodan, nubain, stadol,
talwin, and darvon)
- Indications
- Known narcotic overdose
- Known synthetic narcotic overdose
- Coma of unknown etiology
- Contraindications/Precautions
- Hx of hypersensitivity to drug
- Side Effects
- Withdrawal effects
- May precipitate vomiting
- Administration and Dosage
- Adult: 0.4-0.8 mg IV/IM/SQ up to 2.0 mg
- Peds: 0.01-0.1 mg/kg
- EMT-Basic may administer up to 2.0 mg IM under direct On-Line Medical
Control Only.
