Dobutamine

1. Therapeutic Effects
   1. Strong alpha and beta effects leading to increased intropy and modes peripheral vasodilation.
   2. Produces less oxygen demand in the myocardium than Norepinephrine or Dopamin.

2. Indications
   1. Left sided heart failure with pulmonary congestion.

3. Contraindications/Precautions
   1. Hypovolemic shock.

4. Side Effects
   1. Tachycardia
   2. Dysrhythmias
   3. myocardial ischemia

5. Administration and Dosage
   1. Usual dose: 2-20 mcg/kg/minute.
